Cecile Bremer, 85, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Cecile L. Bremer, age 85, of Albert Lea, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, from the United Methodist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Cecile died peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 3, 2005, after a four- year struggle with cancer.
Cecile Luella Bremer was born on Dec. 21, 1919, in Albert Lea Township, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Kycek) Nelson. She attended school in rural Glenville and on Nov. 18, 1939, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Bremer. Cecile was a devoted mother and homemaker. She worked at Herberger’s, J.C. Penney and at the Glenville School Cafeteria. Cecile enjoyed entertaining her friends at her home to play board games, She loved to bake and crochet. In 1993 she moved to Apple Valley to be closer to her children and then moved back to Albert Lea in 2002. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Glenville
and Albert Lea.
Survivors include her children; Randy Bremer of Hayward, and Wendy Bremer of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Marcy and husband Brad Olson and their daughter, Abby,
Kim Bremer and her children, Michael and Maxwell, and Robb Bremer;
brother, Carl (Joe) and wife Frances Nelson of Glenville; and sister-in-law, Harriet Nelson of Northwood, Iowa.
Cecile was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; son, Robert Bremer; daughter, Margery Ozburn; an infant great-grandchild;
sisters:
Margaret Nelson and Marian Lang; and brother, Earl Nelson.
