Lila Houg, 97, Glenville

Funeral services for Lila M. Houg, 97, formerly of Glenville will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 20, at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland and Vicar Christopher Miller will officiate. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lila died Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, Iowa.
Lila Marguerite Houg was born May 29, 1908, to Fred and Hattie (Schutz) Towne in Glenville. She graduated from Albert Lea High School. On June 4, 1927, Lila was united in marriage to Merton P. Houg in Glenville. She had lived in the Glenville area her entire life.
Lila was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Glenville, Miriam Circle and the Willing Worker’s Sewing Club. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and reading.
Survivors include her sons: Harold and his wife, Nancy; Kenneth and his wife, Janice; Myron and his wife, Shirley, and Herbert and his wife, Patricia, all of Albert Lea; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Merton; baby granddaughter, Amy Houg; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Budach; a brother, Al Towne and a sister, Helen Koehn.
