ALHS track girls compete

NORTHFIELD &045; Anika Smed and Andrea Irvine will compete in the finals Saturday at Carleton College in Northfield.
Smed placed sixth in the high jump and Irvine was ninth in the discus to qualify them for the finals.
Kelly Schreiber and Krista Horejsi placed ninth and 10th in the 100 and 300-meter races, respectively. Unfortunately for the pair, only the top eight advance to the finals.
Saturday, Albert Lea will have girls participating in the 1600, triple jump, pole vault, and shot put events. Also, all relay teams will compete.
According to coach Margo Wayne, the girls that competed did well. Wayne is looking for good things from her team in the finals Saturday.
