Parade starts between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday

A parade to welcome home National Guard Company D, 135th Battalion, is planned between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. when the soldiers are expected to arrive in Albert Lea. Listen to local radio stations Sunday for the exact parade time. The parade will begin at New Denmark Park, move to Bridge Avenue, then to Fountain Street, up to Broadway Avenue and down William Street.
All Albert Lea and Freeborn County residents are encouraged to line the route
and carry banners or signs welcoming the troops home. About 500 flags will be passed out the day of the event. Residents are also encouraged to hang a flag or decorate their yard in a patriotic theme.
