The funeral service for Betty Jane Reed will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rochester. The Rev. Steve Ronningen will officiate. Interment will be in the Hollandale Cemetery, Hollandale. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family with

arrangements.

Betty died Monday, May 9, 2005, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. She was 78 years old.

Betty was born in Albert Lea on Sept. 23, 1926, the daughter of Ralph and Marie (Sorensen) Leidal.

She had been a resident of Freeborn County before moving to Rochester in 1955. Betty attended Albert Lea High School. She was married to Bruce Reed on Oct. 30, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Betty was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Betty had worked at Waters Conley Co. of

Rochester, IBM of Rochester and Kaehler Coffee House of Rochester for 23 years. She was a member of the Local 21 Labor Union. Betty enjoyed golfing, bowling and going on casino trips.

Betty is survived by her husband, Bruce of Rochester; sisters: Gladys Sigurdson of Albert Lea, Ellen Mae (Charles) Boyer of Albert Lea, Mary Helen (Pat) Peterson of Albert Lea, and Darlene (Lyle) Bird of Freeborn,; and nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Lester Leidal.
