Armon Huston, 82, Bricelyn

Armon L. Huston, age 82, of Bricelyn, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, where he had lived since November of 2004.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn with the Rev. Edward Nieman officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn on Friday, May 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery in Seely Township, Faribault County, on Sunday afternoon.

Armon LeRoy Huston was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Winnebago, the son of Roy and Belle (Thompson) Huston. He attended grades one through eight in Winnebago. He married Esther Ann Oppedal on Nov. 25, 1943. He farmed with his father and in the mid 1950s he worked for the Willette Seed Corn Farm in rural Delavan until 1958 when he worked for Edward Eilertson in Kiester. In 1960 he served as street commissioner and policeman for the village of Bricelyn. In 1967 he worked at Winnebago Industries until his retirement in 1984. He served the congregation of Bricelyn Lutheran Church as custodian where he was a member since 1962 and as caretaker of Bricelyn Apartments until October of 2004. Armon was fond of woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Armon is survived by his wife, Esther Huston of Bricelyn; three sons: Jim (Sharrie) Huston of Zumbrota, Minn., Bob (Sherri) Huston of Manitowoc, Wis., and Don (Kathy) Huston of Albert Lea; one daughter, Cathi Moen of Austin; nine grandchildren: Andrew Huston of Indianapolis, Ind., Chris Huston of Zumbrota, Minn., Julia (Scott) Thebiay of Byron, Minn., Justin Moen of Minneapolis, Shannon (Nikki) Moen of Bossier City, La., Sam Huston of Manitowoc, Wis., Jesse (Robbie) Huston of Manitowoc, Wis., Jane Huston of Manitowoc, Wis., and Angela Huston of Manitowoc, Wis.; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Nyle (Darlene) Huston of Blue Earth; and one sister-in-law, Norma Carlson of Kiester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Louie Huston.
