NORTHFIELD &045; The Albert Lea High School boys’ golf team finished third among eight schools in the Skip Boyum Invitational at Northfield Country Club Thursday.

Rosemount was first with 316 strokes for 18 holes. Burnsville had 320, Albert Lea 327.

Scoring for the Tigers: Matt Bennett 80, Ben Jones 80, Jon Breuer 83, Beau Larson 84, Ben Billat 86 and Mike Larson 89.

&uot;Again, it was about where we thought we’d shoot,&uot; said coach Matt Addington. &uot;Northfield is a pretty imposing course and one of the tougher courses we’ll play all year. For guys to be shooting around 80 is a pretty good score. It’s real nice to have Ben Jones kind of on the rise. He had another solid round today.&uot;

The Tigers are back in action today, facing Fairmont in a 3:30 nonconference dual meet at Green Lea.
