Marian A. Holstad, 85 of Lake Mills, Iowa, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with the Rev. Kevin Mackey officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills.
Marian Alice Meehan was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Worth County, Iowa, daughter of Edward and Alice (Tapager) Meehan.
Marian was a resident in this area all her life.
She attended rural schools and graduated from Lake Mills High School.
She was a member of Bristol Church and later Salem Lutheran Church.
On Feb. 18, 1939, Marian was united in marriage to Arnold M. Holstad at the Sion Lutheran parsonage in rural Lake Mills, Iowa.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon and husband Jerome Jensen of Albert Lea; five grandchildren, Thomas Jensen and James Jensen, both of Clarks Grove, Allen W. Holstad II and his wife Lauri of Windsor, Colo., Amy Jo and husband Eric Pagel of Greeley, Colo., and Robert Jensen of Clarks Grove; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Sam Jensen of Clarks Grove; one brother Edward and his wife Betty Meehan of Lamont, Iowa; sister-in-law, Beverly Dregne of Clear Lake, Iowa; brother-in-law, Alton Johnson of Clear Lake, Iowa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Shirley Holstad of Clear Lake, Iowa and Vi and Verne Nelson of California; her best friend, Betty Colby of Lake Mills, Iowa; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold; her son Allen; her sister Marjorie Miles; her brother Richard Meehan; and another brother in infancy.
