The funeral service for Ingolf
&uot;Ole&uot; Satre, of Albert Lea, will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be in the Hartland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Veteran’s Organization. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Ole died on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea where he had been a resident for the past nine years. He was 89.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1915, in Alcester, S.D., the son of Hans and Malina Satre. He moved with his family to the Moscow area at the age of 15. He attended rural country school. Ole served our country in the U.S. Army from 1940 until July of 1945. He married Maxine Knotts Shaman in Austin. He worked in the Austin area and then lived in California where he worked for a janitorial service.
In 1983 he returned to the Albert Lea area. He was a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church. Ole was also a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the D.A.V.
He enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, and making things out of wood.
He is survived by his wife, Ida of Albert Lea; his children: Robert Shaman and his wife Terri of Altaville, Calif., Terry Satre and his wife Ellen of Puallup, Wash.,
Kathy Ponce and her husband Roberto of Albany, Ore., and Judy Fout and her husband Eugene of Morgan Hill, Calif.; stepchildren: Duane Spooner and his wife Kathy of Hartland, and David Spooner of Albert Lea; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Bertha Carlson and Hilma Watson of the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea, and Gladys Klick and Betty Tomkins, both of California; sisters-in-law: June Satre of Reno, Nev., and Beverly Satre of Folsom, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine; brothers: Clarence, Selmer and Irvin Satre; and sisters: Sylvia Stoen and Johanna Gullickson.
