Geraldine died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Geraldine Erma Sundve was born May 30, 1911, to Henry and Martha (Lee) Hovland in Frost Village, Minn. She and her family moved to Albert Lea in 1924. Geraldine was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in 1926 and remained a member there for the rest of her life. She attended schools in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1930. In 1934, Geraldine was united in marriage to Lars O. Sundve. Her life revolved around making a home for her family.

Survivors include her sons: John (Jack) and his wife Elaine of Albert Lea, and Robert (Bob) of Garwin, Iowa; grandchildren: Sandra and her husband Darwin Peterson, Mari and her husband Steve Topitzhofer, Steve Waldo, Michael Waldo, and Nancy and her husband Elgin Hesket; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Winifred Shure of Blue Earth, and Mina Platte of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lars, in 1981; her daughter, Gail Waldo, in 1997; her son-in-law, Wayne Waldo, in 1996; sisters: Mildred Olson and Charlotte Smith; brothers: Juan and Guy Hovland; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and a sister in infancy.
