Herman Casey H. Kleinschrodt, 85, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Herman (Casey) H. Kleinschrodt, of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a scripture prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area veterans groups.

Casey died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. He was 85 years of age.

Casey was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Mansfield, the son of John and Maria (Lohner) Kleinschrodt. He was a graduate of Alden High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a gunner and communications expert.

On Oct. 5, 1946, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Maiden at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Casey was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and was active in the choir. Casey was also a member of the Teams of Our Lady, group #1. He was employed by the Williams Pipeline for over 39 years in plant operations. After his retirement he took over the duties as sexton of St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery, serving there for over 20 years.

Casey was a member of the Albert Lea VFW and American Legion. He was also very active as a Boy Scout leader in Albert Lea. For many years Casey was involved with the Carryaires, woodworking, gardening and reading. He also loved horses, going to the county fair, fishing and tinkering with his cars. He enjoyed going to his Bombardier reunions and spending time with his grandchildren.

Casey is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Albert Lea; children: Rita and Rees Orland of San Diego, Calif., Michael and Ellie Kleinschrodt of Minneapolis,

Roxanne and Charles Adams of Albert Lea, Rochelle Kleinschrodt Diers of Eden Prairie, Minn., Mark and Linda Kleinschrodt of Forest Lake, Minn., Matthew Kleinschrodt of Albert Lea, Max Kleinschrodt of Aurora, Colo., Miles and Dianne Kleinschrodt of Alden, and Rhonda Kleinschrodt Sorensen of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren: Patrick and Stefani Kleinschrodt, David, Dan (Stacy) and Dennis Adams, Anne and Kate Diers, Angie and Aron (Anna) Kleinschrodt, Cheri (Andrew) Brown,

Caleb, Chelsea, Cassidy, Chloe and Conner Kleinschrodt, Mitchell, Lucas and Rachel Kleinschrodt, and Kyle and Jillian Sorensen; great-grandchildren: Hailey, Hannah, Layne and Logan Adams, and Ashley Kleinschrodt; brother, George (Gerda) Kleinschrodt of Albert Lea; sisters: Frieda Jensen of Albert Lea, and Elizabeth Larson of Wells; brother-in-law, David Maiden of San Jose, Calif.; and sisters-in-law: LaVonne (Eugene) Briggs of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Jeanine (Craig) Johannsen of Woodbury, Minn., Bonita Loach of New Buffalo, Mich., Josephine (Michael) McNamara of Western Springs, Ill., Patricia (Russell) Juers of Tomahawk, Wis., Renee Felepe of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Colene Maiden of Benicia, Calif. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Casey was preceded in death by his parents: John and Maria; brothers: John, Fred and Harold Kleinschrodt; sisters: Anna Fink, Emma Katzung, Rose Sorensen and Lizette Kleinschrodt in infancy; brothers-in-law: Donald Maiden,

Dean Maiden and Al Loach; sisters-in-law: Carolyn Maiden and Marcella Maiden; and mother- and father-in-law: Beatrice and Thomas Maiden.
