Funeral services for Rodney V. Johnson, age 67, of Albert Lea will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Lunder Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the Church.

Rodney died Monday, October 18, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Rodney V. Johnson was born April 14, 1937, to Lavendar O. and Myrtle (Narveson) Johnson in Albert Lea. He attended schools in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955. Rodney served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1959, the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963, and the Minnesota Air National Guard. On Sept. 30, 1961, he was united in marriage to Naomi I. Imamoto in Honolulu, Hawaii. After Rodney was discharged from the Navy, the couple returned to Minnesota where he worked in various occupations including a body shop, Fountain Industries, Emil Olson, Streaters, Miami Margarine, and as a substitute mail carrier. Rodney was a very active member of First Lutheran Church and the Elks. He enjoyed cars and belonged to several car clubs. He also enjoyed traveling

Survivors include children: Cheryl Foster of Houston, Texas, Bonnie Hunt of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeffrey Johnson, also of Tulsa; grandchildren: Ashley Cather, Alexandra Hunt, Nickolas Hunt, all of Tulsa, and Savannah Johnson of Oklahoma City; and sister, Marilyn and her husband Gary Loshman of Albert Lea.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Naomi.

Memorials are preferred to Crossroads Community Hospice or First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
