U-13 boys win first game in state soccer tourney

In their first game of Chevy Cup MYSA State Tournament, the Elks U-13 boys defeated Minnetonka United Team 8 to 0.
The team brought their “A” game in game one of the round robin format.
The win was a total team effort.
The defense stymied Minnetonka’s every attempt to score and held them to four shots on goal.
Tyler Prihoda lead the offense scoring four goals with Grant Stadheim, Jairo Campos, Levi Herrera, and Marco Rodriguez each scoring one a piece.
Campos had three assists; Adam Clark had two with Andy Harte, Cody Knudsen, and Jared Jensen each receiving one assist.
Matt Tiegs, Harte, Lucas Dang, Felipe Beccerra, and John Hildreth made up the defense with Jordan DeVries in goal.
The midfield group consisted of Adam Kermes, Chris Karge, and Julio Ambriz.
The team has 10-points after round one (6 points for the win, 3 points for scoring three more goals than the opponent, and 1 point for the shutout).
The team wants to thank everyone who attended for their continued fan support.
Their next game will be Friday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. against Three Rivers.
