George M. Thofson Jr., 55, Glenville

The funeral service for George M. Thofson Jr. of Glenville, will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland and Vicar Korey Finstad will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
George died on Monday, July 19, 2004. He was 55 years old.
George was born on Sept. 23, 1948, in Albert Lea, the son of George M. and Mae (Kabrud) Thofson Sr. He graduated from Glenville High School in 1966. He was a former member of the Albert Lea National Guard. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. George had worked at Farmstead from 1966 – 2001. He enjoyed hunting, visiting with neighbors and loved his family.
George is survived by his wife, Cindy of Glenville; mother, Mae Thofson of Northwood, Iowa; three children: Jessica Berry and her husband Jon of Rochester, Katie Thofson of Northwood, Iowa., and Michael Thofson of Glenville; three sisters: Gloria Hall of Glenville, Viola Braun and her husband, Dale of Emporia, Kansas, and Marlene Overton of Rochester; two brothers: Steven Thofson and his wife Dawn of Northwood, and Mitchell Thofson and his wife Barb of Kingman, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a nephew, Jarred Braun.
George had a keen sense of humor, was very caring, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed.
