MOORHEAD &045; Former Albert Lea High School athlete, Amy Ravenhorst, a freshman from Hollandale, earned All-American honors as part of the Concordia-Moorhead College 4×400-meter relay team at the recent NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet.
Ravenhorst and the other Cobbers finished eighth in the finals of the relay to earn the award.
The All-American honor caps off a highly successful first year for Ravenhorst. She was part of the 4×400 relay team that clinched the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) outdoor championship for Concordia. It was the team’s first conference championship since the 1999 season. The relay team clocked 3:53.25 in the finals at the conference meet, which set a new conference championship meet record.
Ravenhorst was also a key part of the Concordia women’s soccer team that had a record-breaking season in the fall. She helped the Cobbers earn their first-ever MIAC playoff berth as a result of the team’s fourth place finish. The Cobber women’s soccer team set school records for highest conference finish, most conference wins, lowest team goals against average and most shutouts in a season.
Individually as a track athlete, Ravenhorst finished sixth in the 400 meters at the conference outdoor meet, earning all-conference honorable mention in the event.
