Here are highlights in history for Oct. 20, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1990 — The Albert Lea High School Marching Band was conducting a fund raising campaign to help pay expenses for their planned trip to the Citrus Bowl football game in Orlando, Fla., later in the year.

1980 — A Vespa moped was on sale for $340 at J and W Enterprises, 423 Adams Ave.

1940 — Dee Morgan, star fullback for the Austin High School football team, was revealed to really be Bruce Hauke, age 23, of Bend, Ore. His true identity was revealed when he registered for the military draft. He was immediately suspended from the team.
