It’s supposed to be another rebuilding year for the Albert Lea High School girls’ golf team.
But so far, the win-loss record hasn’t reflected it.
The young Tigers improved to 2-0 overall with a nine-hole nonconference victory over Waseca at Albert Lea Country Club Thursday, shooting 202 to the Bluejays’ 261.
&uot;We’re making headway, we’re cutting strokes,&uot; said coach Shawn Riebe. &uot;We’re a young team. If we keep it up, in three years we could be very competitive in the conference. We’ll see.&uot;
On Thursday, the Tigers had something they haven’t had in many meets &045; a medalist. Nicole Stotts took the honors with a 49.
Following for the Tigers: Brooke Woitas 50, Kaeli Wayne 51, April Heilmann 52, Aly Arnold 55, Kelly Hanson 56.
The Tigers are back in action today at Rochester, facing Century at Northern Hills.
