Rodger D.S. Squires, age 66, of New Brighton, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 20, 2004.
He is survived by his fiance, Carol Schwoch; children: Jeff (Cheryl) Squires, Jay (Toni) Squires and Lisa (Mike) Lee; 10 grandchildren; brothers: Donny, David and Mike of Albert Lea and their families; and many friends and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joey; parents, Raymond and Alta; and brother, Charles.
Rodger served in the Navy from 1955-1958. He practiced law in St. Paul and Minneapolis for 35 years. Rog was a good, fair and ethical man. He was a loyal friend.
He was an avid collector of many things and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cabin weekends.
We regret missing the opportunity to have said “See you later,&uot; but take comfort in knowing you are in a great and wonderful place.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, April 23, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 N.W. Seventh St., New Brighton.
A service celebrating Rodger’s life will be held Saturday, April 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Christ the King.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rodger Squires Endowment Fund, C/O Wells Fargo/Red Wing Branch, 401 Plum Street, Red Wing, MN 55066. Funds will be used to assist the needy.
Cremation Society of Minnesota, Minneapolis, is in charge of arrangements.
