Elaine Gladys Benesh, age 80, of Owatonna, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at Cedarview Nursing Home, Owatonna.

She was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Clarence and Ella (Torgerson) Haroldson. She married Ernest Benesh on Feb. 10, 1948 in Glenville.

She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she also belonged to the Dorcas Circle. For many years, Elaine volunteered much of her time at various places in Owatonna. Years ago, she held the position of treasurer for the Owatonna Figure Skating Club. Elaine’s favorite pastimes were flowers, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her spouse, Ernest Benesh of Owatonna; daughter, Sarah (Paul) Lindemann of Bloomington; two grandchildren: Zachary and Valentina; two sisters: Ramona Gutenkauf of Brooklyn Park, and Mabel (Joseph) Conner of Webster, Wis.; three sisters-in-law: Connie Haroldson of Glenville, Elaine Haroldson of Albert Lea, and Laila Haroldson of Minneapolis; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers: Kenneth, Thomas and Bennett.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Owatonna, on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. The Rev. Louisa Fure of Trinity Lutheran Church will be officiating.

Reception will immediately follow the service.

A private family burial will be at a later date.
