Here are highlights in history for Oct. 24, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — The world famous Royal Lippizzan Stallions of Vienna would be appearing at the Faribault County Horse Barn in Blue Earth on Oct. 28 & 29.

1977 — The North Star Chapter of the Beer Can Collectors of America held a can swap at the Albert Lea National Guard Armory.

1957 — Albert Lea’s Degree of Honor No. 88 held a 50th anniversary celebration at Salem Lutheran Church.
