Funeral services for Clarence J. Andersland, age 82, formerly of Emmons, was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske officiated. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the services at the church. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Clarence died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at the Just Like Home Board & Care in Albert Lea.

Clarence Jennings Andersland was born Dec. 14, 1921, to Ole and Brita (Okland) Andersland in Hoylandsbydg, Halsnoy, Norway. He came with his family to the United States when he was two, living in several places in Minnesota before settling in the Emmons area.

Clarence had worked for Walter and Laila Larson for many years. He enjoyed dogs and gardening.

Survivors include his brother, Orlando and wife Phyllis Andersland of East Lansing, Mich.; sister-in-law, Agnes Andersland of Emmons; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ida Rasmussen, Louise Andersland and Olga Madison, and brother, Selmer Andersland.
