Here are highlights in history for Oct. 26, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1989 — The Red Oak Lutheran Church, about two miles north of Corning, was preparing to observe its 130th year.
1979 — Seven local eating places had a special Tribune ad for National Restaurant Week. They were: Chef Cafe, B & W Cafe, Stables, Elbow Room, Quik-Stop, Tom Bell’s Townhouse and Perkins.
1969 — A small dam was placed in a drainage ditch a mile and a half northwest of Moscow to create a pond for fishing.
