Inita Faith Toenges, 91, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Inita Faith Toenges, of Albert Lea, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Pickerel Lake Township. The Rev. Karen Behling will officiate. Interment will be in the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.
Inita died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 91 years old.
Inita was born in Glenville on July 22, 1912, the daughter of George and Mary (Knudtson) Grimm. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1930 and also attended Normal School.
Inita was married to John Toenges in Manchester Township on Oct. 4, 1932. She lived on the family farm in Manchester Township from the time of her marriage until March of 2001 when she moved to Shepherds Inn at Wells. In May of 2003 she moved to Thorne Crest Retirement Center. Inita was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, Pickerel Lake. She had also been active in the Ruth Circle and Ladies Aid.
Inita worked hard on the family farm and also was a nurses aide for 14 years at Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of Senior Citizens in Alden, Canasta Club and active in Mother’s Club at Buckeye School.
Inita enjoyed gardening, flowers and was very particular about her yard. She loved animals, playing cards, knitting and word puzzles. Whenever she could, she loved to go for rides in the car.
Inita is survived by her daughter, Phyllis and husband Louie Tomschin of Alden; grandchildren: Randy and wife Sandy Tomschin of Alden, and JoAnn and husband Chad Eaton of Armstrong, Iowa; five great-grandchildren: Bradley, Kelly and Andrea Tomschin, and Jaycie and Nathan Eaton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Manville and Lauretta Toenges of Alden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Inita was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Brenda; brother, Kenneth and wife Carol; brother, Bernie; half sister: Cecile and husband Louis Jensen; half brother, Henry; and brother and sister-in-law: Hilda and Cecil Tapp.
