Dewane Richard Wright, 70, Ellendale

Funeral services for Dewane R. Wright, age 70, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. Aiden’s Catholic Church, Ellendale. The Rev. Thien Nguyen will officiate. Interment will be in St. Aiden’s Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Dewane died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Dewane Richard Wright was born July 31, 1933, in Geneva Township, Freeborn County, to Eugene and Sylvia (Olson) Wright. He graduated from Freeborn High School in 1952. In 1956, Dewane married Yvonne Anderson. They were divorced in 1976. In 1982, he and Theresa Beck were married at North Freeborn Lutheran Church. Dewane was involved in dairy and beef farming for 10 years along with a portable feed mill and trucking business. He was later employed with Twin Lakes Fertilizer at Ron’s Spray Center in Twin Lakes. Dewane then worked with Hi-Yield Products before owning and operating Agri-Tech Construction until his retirement in 1990.
Dewane had been president of Minnesota 1/2-Arabian Association in the 1970s and a 4-H adult leader. He belonged to the Sunset Saddle Club and helped found the Ellendale Saddle Club. He enjoyed trail riding, horse shows, rodeos, woodworking and crafts, and yard work. He shared his life with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; daughter, Michele and husband Brian Warner of Owatonna; son, Blane and wife Linda Wright of Dalhart, Texas; grandchildren: Channing and his wife Jennie Warner, Christian Warner, and Ann Wright; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Carter, and Andrew; sister, Arlene and husband Ed Miller of Clarks Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
Dewane was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter, Lacey, in 1999.
He was a beloved husband, father, and friend and will be forever missed.
