Lillian C. Abbe, 87, Albert Lea

Lillian Charlotte Abbe died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. She was 87 years old.

Lillian was born on Dec. 21, 1915, in Conger, the daughter of Gustav and Lillian (Ryan) Kinseth. She was baptized at home and was confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Concordia Church by Pastor H. F. Pfeiffer. She grew up in Conger where her father was the depot agent. She graduated from Alden High School.

She was united in marriage to Ernest C. Abbe on Sept. 12, 1940. They made their home in Alden. Lillian entered Good Samaritan Center in April of 1999 and resided there until her death. She loved reading, especially history, and collected old books. She also collected antiques and liked to garden and cook. She was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church in Alden, and taught Sunday School, Bible School and was active in Ladies Aide and Missionary Circle at Grace Lutheran in Alden. She was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, in 1990; her parents; brothers: John and Harold Kinseth; sister, Josephine Marsh; brother-in-law, Kenneth Howard Marsh; and nephew, Kenneth Joseph “Jody” Marsh.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne of Roseville, Minn.; two nieces: Genevieve (Franklin) Walker and their families of Albert Lea, and Virginia (Robert) Lepage and their families of Fargo, N.D.; and cousins.

There will be no visitation and burial is private.
