An Owatonna man died Friday after he was struck by a car while crossing the street.

According to an Owatonna Police Department press release, Craig Hemmingsen, 63, was walking northbound on across 26th Street NE at Third Avenue NE when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Gregory Anderson, 38, of Owatonna.

Hemmingsen was transported from the crash scene by ambulance and was pronounced dead at the Owatonna Hospital.

The crash is being investigated by the Owatonna Police Department with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol.
