Vivian F. Johnson, age 78, of Bricelyn, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea.
Funeral services will he 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. Officiating clergy will be the Revs. Patricia Hinkie and Edward Nieman. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 26, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn from 5-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery in Seely Township, Faribault County.
She was born May 17,1925, the daughter of Andrew L. and Regina M. (Holan) Olson in Bricelyn.
Vivian was baptized and confirmed at Bricelyn Lutheran Church. She attended Clayton Country School and graduated from the Bricelyn Public School Vivian married Gehard Johnson on July 31, 1943. She worked as a telephone operator at the Bricelyn Telephone Company for several years, the local meat market, Chuck’s AG, and Winnebago Industries. She was a lifelong member of the Bricelyn Lutheran Church, and was active in many of the churches ministries. Vivian will be remembered for her faith, her kindness and generosity, community service, her love of flowers, her homemade donuts, and her ability to make friends with the birds.
She is survived by two sons: Lee and his wife Sharyl Johnson of Bricelyn, and Martin Johnson of Rochester; two daughters: Francine Meier of Georgetown, Mass., and Janet and her husband Marvin Reinartz of Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren: Shane Johnson, Allison Johnson, Dena and her husband Patrick Baldus, William and his wife Paula Meier, Amy Perkins, and Kristi and her husband Biven Wray; seven great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Clark, Jennifer and Jason Baldus; Jacob and Austin Perkins; and Shondra Boucher; two sisters: Arlene Henning of Bricelyn, and Marion Williams of Pleasanton, Calif.; sister-in-law, Maxine Olson of Bricelyn; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gehard, in 1976; grandson, Bradley Johnson; son-in-law, Richard Meier; sister, Geraldine Oren; brothers: Franklin and Clair Olson; and three brothers-in-law: Earl Henning, Earl Williams, and Oswald Oren.
