ST. ANSGAR, Iowa — A Stacyville teen was killed when a car crashed into a school bus around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday about three miles east of St. Ansgar on U.S. Highway 218.

Allison Marjie Smith, 17, a St. Ansgar High School junior, died, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

According to law enforcement, the school bus was stopped at 1741 Highway 218 when a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Smith approached from behind and ran into the back of the bus, driven by Rosalee Ann Lowe, 65, also of Stacyville.

No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
