The public is invited to join all Hawthorne students in a Veterans Day program at 9 a.m. Thursday in the Hawthorne Elementary gym. Fifth grade students will provide the music, veterans in attendance will be recognized during the program, with the help of Ms. Rowland’s Kindergarten class.

Hawthorne students and staff have been asked to contribute to the “Slide Show of Honor.” They may bring a photo or copy of a photo of a veteran who is a family member or a friend, someone currently living or from the past. The veteran may have served in peace time or in war. The deadline for contributing photos is Monday. Students should deliver them to the Hawthorne office in an envelope with the Hawthorne student’s name and teacher’s name on the envelope. All photos will be returned.
