Franklin M. Trihus, 57, Blooming Prairie

Franklin M. Trihus passed away on Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after a nine-month bout with cancer.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1946, to Marvel and Olga (Madson) Trihus. After graduating from Blooming Prairie High School in 1963, he attended Dunwoody Institute in the Twin Cities, where he received his electrical license. He worked as a union electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 343 out of Rochester for 35 years, and was also on the executive board the last 15 years. He also ran the family farm, and was in the Army Reserves for six years.
He married Constance A. Koster on May 14, 1966, at First Lutheran Church of Blooming Prairie.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years; a daughter and son-in-law; Tammy and Bruce Wolf of Blooming Prairie; and three sons and daughter-in-laws: David and Tara Trihus of Farmington, Mike and Melissa Trihus of Blooming Prairie, and James Trihus of Blooming Prairie; nine grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth and Marge Trihus of Blooming Prairie; a brother-in-law, Allan Lofthus of Dodge Center; an aunt, Lillian Rouhoff of Hayfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; a brother, Gordon Trihus; and a sister, Elaine Lofthus.
He loved spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed looking up his family heritage, farming and road trips to Treasure Island.
Funeral visitation will be held at Blooming Prairie Funeral home today, Aug. 27, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church on Thursday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m., and interment will be at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church.
