Funeral services for Bernita R. Trost, age 87, of Glenville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2003, at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Rev. Mark Wendland will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m., today, Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Bernita died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

Bernita Ruth Trost was born March 26, 1916, to Herman H. and Martha (Busse) Barger in Ackley, Iowa. She grew up in Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1933. On Nov. 17, 1935, Bernita was united in marriage to Leonard Trost in Cedar Falls. The couple farmed in the Clare, Iowa, area until moving to a farm south of Myrtle on July 17, 1956. On July 17, 1986, Leonard and Bernita moved to Glenville where they have lived for the last 17 years. Bernita was a member of First Lutheran Church in Glenville. She especially enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard of Glenville; daughter, Marcia and husband Robert Larson of Albert Lea; son, Charles and wife, Linda Trost of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Daniel and wife, Evy Trost, Chris and wife, Kathi Larson, David and wife, Glenys Trost, Lori and husband, Kevin Reyerson, Gary and wife Teri, Larson, Kelli Trost, Krista Trost, and Kari Trost; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bernita was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald; grandchildren: Kathy, Doug, and Jon; brother, Lee and wife, Inez Barger; and a brother and a sister in infancy.
