Fred C. Vaughn, 87, formerly of Albert Lea

Fred C. Vaughn, age 87, was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Conrad, Mont., and was raised in Albert Lea.
A staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, he retired from Seidelhuber Iron and Bronze after 30 years of employment.
Mr. Vaughn died at his home in Seattle, Wash., after a long illness on Saturday, July 12, 2003.
His wife of 55 years, Verna Foley, died in 1997.
He is survived by his son, Larry; granddaughter, Tara; great-granddaughter, Zandra; brother, Ed; and sister, Evelyn Bender.
A private family service will be held. Remembrances to the Lung Association.
