Steffens re-elected mayor in Lake Mills

Lake Mills, Iowa, resident David Steffens Sr. was re-elected Tuesday as mayor of this community.
According to results from the Winnebago County Auditor’s Office, Steffens received 350 votes, or almost 74 percent of all votes cast.
Challenger and current Lake Mills Councilor Duane Skellenger received 107 votes, or about 23 percent of votes. There were 18 write-in votes.
This will be Steffens second consecutive term as mayor.
Elected to the Lake Mills Council were incumbent Anthony Sorenson with 388 votes and incumbent Bill Clark with 358 votes.
Challenger Stephanie Steffens received 205 votes. There were 205 write-in votes.
According to the Worth County Auditor’s Office, the following are the results for the Northwood City Council and Kensett City Council:
Northwood City Council
Voters chose to elect the three people on the ballot Tuesday for council-at-large positions.
Elected were Jane Bloomingdal with 200 votes, Teresa George with 242 votes and Gary A. Nerlien with 222 votes.
Results state there were 279 people who voted out of 1,516 registered voters, or about 18 percent voter turnout.
Kensett City Council
Voters could choose three out of the four names on the ballot in this race.
Two incumbents were re-elected and one was overturned.
Winning were Denise Ehlenfeldt, incumbent, with 34 votes, David Heiken, incumbent, with 48 and Kris Woltzen, challenger, with 33.
Incumbent Dorothy Bratrud received 22 votes.
Results state there were 62 people who voted out of 206 registered voters, or 30 percent voter turnout.
