Briefs: LM softball team tops North Iowa

LAKE MILLS, Iowa &045; A three-run home run in the sixth inning lifted Lake Mills to an 8-6 victory over North Iowa in a North Iowa Conference softball game Tuesday.

Brackey’s home run, her fourth of the season, came with two outs. The Bulldogs stranded six baserunners while North Iowa left seven on base.

The Bulldog baseball team lost 5-1 to Mason City Newman. Adam Hengesteg had two doubles while Derek Richards had a double and a single for Lake Mills’ only hits. Brad Rogstad took the pitching loss.

ALAHA board to meet Monday

The Albert Lea Amateur Hockey Association will hold a board meeting on Monday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the City Arena.

Summer hockey school July 14-27

Sand volleyball tourney June 28

OWATONNA &045; There will be women’s sand volleyball tournament Saturday, June 28 at Plaza Morena in Owatonna. Format is pool play with single-elimination.
