Memorial services for Utley Ellsworth Williams, age 79, of Alden, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Rev. Peter Soli will officiate. Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2003, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.

Utley died Friday, May 23, 2003, at his home.

Utley Ellsworth Williams was born July 25, 1923, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Mahlon E. and Sarah V. (Evans) Williams. He graduated from Cresbard High School in Cresbard, S.D. On Feb. 18, 1946, Utley was united in marriage to Evelyn H. Lehman at Wecota Lutheran Church in Wecota, S.D. The couple has lived in the area for 53 years. Utley was a farmer all his life until retirement. Following their retirement Utley and Evelyn spent winters in Texas for 19 years. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden and St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Alden; sons: Craig and wife Tammy of Alden, Steven and wife Suzanne of Alden, Sydney of Oakdale, Minn., Kevin and wife Betty of Fairmont, and Matthew and wife Edith of North Mankato; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Leo and wife Rita of Seattle.

Utley was preceded in death by his parents.
