HOLLANDALE — Hollandale Christian School parents are gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year on Friday, the annual $ellabration Auction.

A silent auction and supper will start at 5:30 p.m. and run until 6:45 p.m. A live auction, featuring Col. Greg Jensen, starts at 7 p.m. All events are at the school in Hollandale.

Child care is available for children in fifth grade and younger.

Chairman Shawn McCarthy said the school has been holding the event for at least five years. Last year’s event raised more than $33,000.

McCarthy said proceeds help with day-to-day operations of the school.

The auction will feature everything from toys, wildlife prints, farm chemicals, tickets to Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and a hotel stay, a 50th anniversary Twins’ collage that has been autographed by Ron Gardenhire, tools, good old-fashioned baked goods, Vikings memorabilia and much more.

“We found that even with the down economy, we still have gotten some fantastic donations to the auction,” McCarthy said, adding he hopes the community comes out to the event to support the school, which has been part of the community for more than 50 years.

“This is really a blessing every year,” he said.

Hollandale Christian School has 80 students in grades K-8.
