Editorial: What to do with used coats?
Published 9:18 am Wednesday, November 16, 2011
The coat drive is over.
But you still can help the Freeborn County Jaycees. Bring gently used coats, hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, snowpants and boots to Wells Federal Bank, American Bank and the Albert Lea Tribune.
The Jaycees especially want ones in children’s sizes.
There is definitely a need. Just look at the children as they walk to school or hop off the bus. There are some not wearing coats, and the air temperature this week is hovering near freezing this week. Brr!
People also can bring their coats to Hawthorne Elementary School on Nov. 22 during school hours. The school is holding a coat drive that day.
Be one of the good ones. Donate your used winter gear.
