Albert Lea diver Karli Kriewall is in 10th place following Thursday’s preliminary round of the Class A girls’ swimming and diving meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.

Kriewall scored 227 points after eight rounds of dives and is nine points out of third place, according to the Tigers head coach Jon Schmitz.

“She was better than she was at sections and has her three best dives on Saturday,” Schmitz said.

Schmitz said the state meet’s leader, Bailey Dupay, of Northfield, is “untouchable” going into the finals.

The state diving finals begin at noon on Saturday.
