Thanksgiving Eve church service planned for community

A community-wide Thanksgiving Eve worship service is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The worship service is sponsored by the Albert Lea congregations of Christ Episcopal, United Methodist, Ascension Lutheran, Salem Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churches. The pastors and laity of the five sponsoring congregations will lead the worship service that will feature a massed choir of community members directed by the United Methodist Music Director Eileen Ness. The Rev. Linda Gunderson, Synod Minister of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will be the special guest preacher. The offering received will be shared equally between the Albert Lea Ecumenical Food Shelf and the Salvation Army. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the worship service.
