New bus route to begin Nov. 30

Travelers going to and from Albert Lea will soon will have more travel choices, thanks to Jefferson Lines’ new working partnership with sister company Land to Air Express based in Mankato Minnesota.
The new route will start on Nov. 30 and will originate in Mankato with daily service to Albert Lea, Austin and Rochester. The service will include a stop at the Rochester International Airport as well as connecting service to more than 4,000 destinations in North America.
“Albert Lea has been an important part of the Jefferson Lines Transportation system for more than 90 years. We are very pleased with the expanded travel options for the community” said Bonnie Edwards Buchanan, vice president of Jefferson Lines. “Over the past years our business has increased right along with the price of gas and traffic congestion. Riding a comfortable bus is a great option for travelers who want to simply sit back, relax and enjoy the view.”
Ole’s Eastside Shell at 2222 E. Main St. in Albert Lea is the bus depot for Jefferson Lines and for Land to Air Express.
