During the holiday season, the Minnesota chapter of a group called Concerns of Police Survivors promotes Project Blue Light as a way to honor fallen heroes. The color blue is associated with law enforcement and is a symbol of peace.

The group said that displaying blue lights at homes and businesses over the holidays sends a message of support and gratitude to law enforcement, and honors those killed in the line of duty.
