Here are highlights in history for Nov. 20, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1988 — Columns on the Tribune’s editorial page by staff writer Paula Johnson and syndicated writer Jeff Greenfield were based on the pending 25th anniversary of the death of President John Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963.
1978 — According to a Tribune ad, the Korn Krib Tavern at the Best Western Kahler Motel, 2301 E. Main St., was “where people gather.”
1958 — Ground breaking ceremonies were held at Albert Lea’s Zion Lutheran Church where a new building would be built to replace the existing structure.
