Funeral services for Bernard L. Williamson, age 74, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville, at a later date. Military honors will be accorded by area servicemen’s organizations. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, Feb. 17,

at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Bernard died on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Bernard L. Williamson was born on Feb. 28, 1928, in Glenville, the son of Losie and Zelpha (Herr) Williamson. He grew up there and attended the Glenville public schools. During the late 1940s, Bernie served his country in the United States Navy. On Dec. 3, 1950, he was united in marriage to Joanne Engen at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Bernie worked for 35 years at the Albert Lea Foundry, retiring in 1986 as general manager. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, the American Legion, and the VFW. Bernie enjoyed birds, fishing, camping, and traveling in his motor home, and spending winters at their home in Arizona. Bernie especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the time he spent with them.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne of Albert Lea; son, Brad Williamson and his wife Jackie of Albert Lea; son, Bernard Williamson Jr. and his wife Sandra of Anoka; daughter, Julie DeBoer and her husband Tom of Spicer; and daughter, Jamie Mollberg and her husband Kim of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren: Heather Hagen and her husband Ross of Sunburg, Bernard Williamson III and his wife Shawna of Annandale, Lisa, Lacey, and Katie Williamson, all of Albert Lea, Erin Lindahl and her husband Jason of New London, Tommy and Andrew DeBoer of Spicer, and Carly, Alex, and John Mollberg all of Detroit Lakes; great-grandchildren: MiKaylie and Savanna Hagen of Sunburg, and Jack and Lily Williamson of Annandale; brother, Kenneth Williamson and his wife Arlene of Glenville; brother, George Williamson of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Lloyd Jorgenson of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margie Jorgenson; his brother, Harold &uot;Hap&uot; Williamson; his sister-in-law, Donna Williamson; and his nephews: David and Gary Williamson.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
