Nancy Lee Campbell, 64, Waycross, Ga.

Nancy Lee Campbell died Wednesday morning, Feb. 9, 2003, at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was 64, a native of Rochester, and had lived in Waycross, Ga., since 1971. Her parents were the late Clarence W. Moehnke and Florence L. Eastman.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Dr. John C. Campbell.

Survivors include a daughter Catriona Campbell of Waycross; son, Peter Campbell and his wife Susan Maginn and their daughter, Grace Campbell, of Bloomfield, N.J., and her other son, Colin Campbell and his wife Elissa Campbell and their daughter, Cade Campbell, of Cummings, Ga. She is also survived by her brother, David Moehnke and his wife Renada of Lakeville, Minn., and her half sister, Marlin Lampman of Rochester.

A passionate spokesperson for the arts, Mrs. Campbell helped found the Waycross Area Community Theatre (WACT) and the Albert Lea Community Theatre (ACT) in Albert Lea. As an actress, some of her memorable roles were in &uot;Driving Miss Daisy,&uot; &uot;The Elephant Man,&uot; &uot;Oliver,&uot; and &uot;Detective Story.&uot; She also directed several shows, including award-winning one-act plays.

A dedicated citizen of Waycross, Mrs. Campbell worked for the Downtown Development Authority and helped launch the openings of both the Jameson Inn and the Hampton Inn as the general manager of each property.

She will be remembered for her boundless energy, relentless enthusiasm and her tremendous love of life.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Miles-Odum Funeral Home in Waycross. The family will receive friends today, Feb. 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
