Meet the new city manager finalist

The newest Albert Lea city manager candidate to be interviewed this weekend has a history of administration in North and South Dakota.
Greg Sund received his bachelor’s degree from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., in 1986, and his master’s degree in public administration from the Universty of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., in 1989.
He most recently worked as the first city administrator in the city of Spearfish, S.D., population 10,010 people, making a salary of $95,000 per year.
He was asked to resign at the end of last year, however, after the mayor and council there decided they were not ready for an administrator.
From 1996 to 2008, he worked as city administrator of Dickinson, N.D., population 16,035.
Then from 1996 to 1996, he worked as regional director of the South Dakota Small Business Development Center in Pierre, S.D.
From 1992 to 1995 he was the finance officer of Platte, S.D., and from 1990 to 1992, he was a special project employee in Rapid City, S.D.
He volunteered in the mayor’s office in Rapid City, S.D., from 1988 to 1989.
