Arthur Lamb, 89, Brownsdale

The funeral service for Arthur Waldo Lamb will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 302 Market Street, Brownsdale with the Rev. Jeff Sage officiating. Interment will be in Dexter Cemetery in Dexter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Brownsdale and one hour before the service.

Arthur Lamb

Arthur Waldo Lamb, age 89, passed away on Nov. 23, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society Comforcare in Austin. He was born Jan. 20, 1922.

Arthur was adopted as an infant to Delbert and Nettie Lamb of Williston, N.D. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He relocated as a teenager to Brownsdale. Art was drafted in 1942. He served in the 101st Army Airborne. He was a proud member of the Screaming Eagles of World War II. During this time he received a Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars for his brave service.

Art was married to Grace Ella Rubin on Sept. 30, 1958. They have resided in Brownsdale all their married life. Art was a self-employed construction worker and worked for many farmers and businesses in the area. Art will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Art is survived by his wife, Grace, one son, Charles (Pamela) Lamb of Annandale; four daughters, Mary (Bill) Guggisberg of Freeborn; Brenda (Kevin) Sabin of Austin; Alice (Charles) Marks, of Austin; VeNila (Lynn) Davis, of Pryor, Okla.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, two sons, Andrew and George Lamb; one infant daughter, Sheila Lamb; and one granddaughter, Sarah Ann Sabin.
