With snow melting, look for Jon Weiland

Published 3:55 pm Saturday, March 13, 2010

I am writing to you and especially to your readers to implore your help in finding our missing loved one, Jon Weiland. Jon is the loving father of three children, a son and brother who is deeply missed. He has been missing since Dec. 19, 2009. He was last seen late in the evening at the bar and grill in Walters. He was driving a red 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup with the license plate 588 WOS. He is 43 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs 230 pounds. He has hazel eyes, wears glasses and wears a right prosthetic leg. He was last seen wearing a black pullover jacket with “Iowa” written across the front, blue jeans and a Kenworth cap. He walks with a slight limp.

With spring thawing on the way, we once again are asking for your help in our search for Jon. Please be alert as you are out and about in the rural areas near Walters and Albert Lea. Even though a lot of the area was searched by car, snowmobile and airplane earlier this winter, there is no doubt that some areas were covered with snow at that time.

We truly appreciate all of you that have already participated in this search during the winter months, such as the local and county police departments, snowmobile clubs, friends and concerned neighbors from Iowa and Minnesota. We, the family, are offering a reward for any information that directly leads to finding Jon or his truck.
