Becky (Bergie) Powers died Dec. 30, 2002, after complications of cancer. She was 54 years old. Burial and memorial services were held in Glasgow, Ky.
Becky was born May 17, 1948, in Albert Lea, to Bidney and Marie (Cady) Bergie.
She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1966. Becky was an artist, seamstress and decorator of furniture. She liked roller skating and ice skating and swimming. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She also loved animals, plants and flowers.
Becky is survived by her husband, Tom, in Texas; daughter, Sarah and her husband Gary Kerkhove and children, Kristen and Lucas and Natalie and Nicole, in Tennessee; son, Seth Jacobsen and his wife Candace of Arizona; son, Saul Powers and daughter, Sasha Powers, of Glasgow, Ky.; brother, Bradley and his wife Marcia Bergie and their children, Joshua and Sonja, of Lake Elmo, Minn.; mother, Marie Bergie of Albert Lea; uncle, Romeo, and aunt, Marge, of Albert Lea and their children, Sigrid and her husband Tony Feliciano in California, and Astrid Bergie in Minneapolis; and the Wamsley cousins, Brett and Marcia and Marilyn in Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; her father, Bidney Bergie, in 2002; brother, Barry Bergie, in 1995; aunt, Gloria Bergie in infancy; nephew, Eli Bergie at birth; uncle, Murdoc Bergie; and uncle, Richard, and aunt, Virginia Wamsley.
