Here are highlights in history for Nov. 30, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1987 — Wendy Hertges of Glenville was crowned as the new Miss Albert Lea. She was the daughter of Dennis and Linda Lau and a student at Austin Junior College.
1977 — Ray’s Pizza was on sale at Drommer’s Country Store. 920 S. Broadway Ave., for 99 cents each. This 15-ounce pizza was available in four separate flavors and meats.
1967 — The Albert Lea Park and Recreation Board was considering three sites for a softball complex. One site was the Bancroft fill area. The other two were Southwest Junior High School or by the airport.
