Scott Dean Sasser, 36, Rock Hill, S.C.

Memorial services for Scott Dean Sasser, age 36, of Rock Hill, S.C., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the First Lutheran Church Chapel in Albert Lea, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. John Holt will officiate.
Scott died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at his home in Rock Hill, S.C., as a result of a sudden and totally unexpected heart attack.
Scott was born Nov. 14, 1966, in Albert Lea, the son of Robert and Marilyn (Brackey) Sasser.
At age nine Scott moved with his parents to Tampa, Fla. At age 14 years he moved again with his family to Huntsville, Ala., where Scott graduated from Grissom High School, he went on to college and received his bachelor of science degree in business management from University of North Alabama, Florence, Ala. Scott enjoyed his college years tremendously, while at UNA he participated in many organizations.
After college graduation Scott worked for RAC Corp. as assistant manager in Tuscaloosa, Ala. In 1996 Scott moved to Rock Hill, S.C., to work for Arcadia Financial LTD/Citigroup Inc. in Charlotte, N.C., as a collection supervisor in their loan department. In August 2002 Scott changed jobs to work for LendingTree.com in Charlotte, N.C., as a loan representative. He was very happy with his new job and responsibilities and enjoyed the people so very much.
Scott served proudly in the United States Naval Reserve for eight years.
Scott was an active member of the Charlotte Chapter of “No Kidding” a social organization, he also enjoyed traveling, boating, and attending college and professional football games and NASCAR races. Scott enjoyed life.
Scott is survived and greatly missed by his parents, Bob and Marilyn Sasser of Albert Lea; one brother, Mark Sasser and wife Beth of Hoover, Ala.; grandmother, Marie Brackey of Albert Lea; aunts and uncles; Elaine and Dick Rooney of Bella Vista, Ark., Sharon and Lloyd Cremers of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Mike and Janice Sasser of Huntertown, Ind.; and nine cousins: Mike and Ryan Rooney, Kathy, and Michael, John, Joey, Jeannie, Josh and Gloria Sasser.
He was preceded in death were three grandparents: Helmer Brackey of Albert Lea, and Robert and Elizabeth Sasser of Barefoot Bay, Fla. (formerly of Albert Lea).
All who knew him will miss Scott’s quick wit, keen sense of humor and generous heart.
